I will be making my own work and I will help students in developing and making their work. Students will be encouraged to work in hot glass in ways never before imagined. Emphasis will be on discovery. Expect to work in hot glass and cold glass painting and performance.

In this class we will develop a vocabulary of techniques to express ideas and images which are personal to each student. We will emphasize technical oportunities unique to lampwork, such as the chance for intricate detail, techniques for assembling sculptures from many component parts and elaborate tubing constructions. We will work primarily with borosilicate(Pyrex)glass. here will be simple projects assigned by the instructor, but free experimentation will also be encouraged. We will playfully seek to deepen our elf-knowledge by creatively using the properties of glass. Intended for students with some glass experience.
